How much for a NIB Kailey?

Amy, Gosh, I just hate to say it but, yeah, I think that is too much for one doll only. Considering her original price was only $84. If it was the complete collection, well, maybe.

Again, only you can decide how much she is "worth" to you and your dd. I know I bought Lindsey for more than her original value as well, but it was her complete collection and from a fellow board member, so I felt very confident in her condition.

I've been passing by some of the retired items lately because I just cannot justify the cost anymore. I think as my collection grows, the retired items don't hold the "gleam" that they once did.

A lesson I learned on Kailey was to get Marisol as quickly as possible. I waited about a month to get her, but I did get the entire collection. When I broke down and ordered Kailey, her swimsuit was already sold out and I paid double for it on ebay. I'm still thinking that I should get another Marisol for future ebay selling, but just don't want to shell out the cash for her right now, and I'll probably regret it later.

editing to add: I only paid a little more than that for the complete Lindsey collection and I think she holds a higher value than Kailey. (although Kailey's collection is larger, but I don't think your price included the complete Kailey collection)

No, it wasn't the complete collection, just Kailey! You know you are really starting to lose it when you are giving serious thought to a $225.00 doll! LOL I mean I know people pay that much for some PM dolls, but, we don't care here really if a doll is PM or not, and she could get a AGOT and lots of other stuff for $225.00. She wasn't "into" the Today dolls until younger DD, got Marisol for her birthday and saw all the cute stuff you could get for her. We will just have to keep looking.

Amy, I would compromise and tell her that the next LE doll will be HERS! You can order the complete collection for her then, maybe even with a new CODE! Whoopee!!!!!

Kailey is a beautiful doll.I hope you can find her for a reasonable price.
My Mother recently bought me Kailey and her collection (including the wetsuit)for around $200, but that was not a BIN price, she bid for her.Also, she was NOT in a box, HOWEVER You can order a box from AG for $5.
Kailey arrived in perfect condition other than her braids were undone, and her hand had a dot of ink, which I have since removed.
I had been watching Kailey for a while, and it appears she goes high most of the time.Keep watching for a good BIN, anything is possible.

This is how I see it: if Kailey was your daughter's doll, would SHE value it at $225? I guess what I'm saying is, would your daughter hold her at a higher value than a doll she'd buy at AGP? If not, then I'd go with a doll at AGP. Plus, that's always fun to pick out a doll at the store. But if you think that your daughter would give Kailey $225 worth of love [img]wink.gif[/img] and that you'd really like her as part of your collection, then I'd say keep looking on ebay. Good luck! I have pretty much given up on Kailey because I can't justify the current prices. I look at some of the blond AGOTs and find them to be equally nice.

A few have pointed me in the direction of the AGT24 who seems to favor her too. Just a thought. I really like Kailey too, but didn't know anything about AG when she came out, so I missed her all together. I just don't have the $$ to spend like that on one doll...I got an AGT 24 and she is really beautiful.

OK so I'm still on a hunt for Kailey, DD would really like her for her birthday. Do you think that after the Madison sale their will be a flood of Kaileys for sale on Ebay? Do you think $225.00 is too much for one NIB? She has said that if she doesn't (or can't) get Kailey (she does understand about her being retired) she would probably choose GT22 (light blond hair, blue eyes) when we take our trip to AGPC for her birthday. Is she just as pretty?
I would appreciate any info.

my daughter has Alice (AG22) and she is VERY cute!
I agree that with $200 or more (as Kailey goes) you can buy your daughter a whole collection of dresses on top of her doll.
I would not spend that kind of money on a play doll. If it was a collector's item, may be, but not for my daughter to play with. I would be agonizing each time she starts messing her up!
Another thing: if you are getting her doll at AGP, you can have her get a hair do like Kailey's on the spot so that they look even more like sisters (may be even have a story to go with it?)
She will be a cutie and her daughter will earn stars for the hair do (if she has a club membership)
